June the 19th: World Sauntering Day

One Step Beyond...Image via Wikipedia

Invented by W.T. Rabe sometime in the 1970s (and nicely offsetting the preceding International Panic Day), World Sauntering Day celebrates strolling, meandering and generally getting from place to place in a relaxed and stylish manner.

Sadly, many people live their lives in a rush, sprinting from one rushed job to another, never taking time to smell the roses and enjoy the journey. If, as you saunter on your way, you are passed by one of these unfortunate individuals, take a moment to trip them up and sit on them.

Explain to them in a calm, relaxed voice that it's World Sauntering Day, and they'll be a lot happier if they just chill out, breathe deeply and take their time. If they resist, put your knee on their windpipe for about 30 seconds. This is a secret pressure point which causes relaxation and a calm, even dreamy frame of mind.

They'll thank you for it.

That's your Day for today.

I like your blog idea. Sauntering - I guess I could tell people that's what I doing when my bum left heel acts up and I move along sorta strange.

Hmmm...that might be more meandering. Or traversing? Could be more of a perambulation...you know, it's really hard to tell without seeing it.
